Relationship Counselling

Attachment-focused counselling for relationships, connection and intimacy in Bundaberg.

Relationships can be a place of connection, comfort and belonging. They can also bring up feelings of rejection, frustration, loneliness and vulnerability, particularly when we struggle to understand each other's needs.

Our experiences of attachment can influence how we respond to conflict, seek connection and communicate our emotions. You may find yourselves having the same arguments, withdrawing when things become difficult, or reaching for connection in ways that leave you both feeling misunderstood.

Couples and relationship counselling provides space to explore:

  • Recurring patterns of conflict and disconnection

  • Understanding each other's emotional needs

  • Communication, listening and feeling heard

  • Attachment patterns and responses to conflict

  • Trust, vulnerability and emotional intimacy

  • Changes in relationships through pregnancy and parenthood

  • Navigating differences in parenting approaches

  • Physical affection, sexual intimacy and desire

  • Rebuilding connection after periods of distance

  • Understanding how past experiences influence your relationship

Working together, we'll explore what happens between you, not just what you're arguing about.

Through conversation and experiential activities, including creative and sandtray work, we'll begin to notice how you each respond to difficult moments, what happens when connection is lost, and what you might need from one another.

You may begin to recognise familiar patterns, communicate your needs more openly and develop a deeper understanding of each other's experiences.

The goal isn't to decide who is right or wrong, or tell you what your relationship should look like. It's to create space for both of you to feel heard, explore what matters to you and make intentional choices about your relationship.

Intimacy & Sexual Wellness Counselling

Intimacy can change across different seasons of life.

You might love your partner deeply and still feel disconnected. Desire may have changed. Sex might have become something you avoid, overthink, feel pressure around, or simply don't have space for anymore.

Intimacy and sexual wellness counselling provides a space to explore what is happening underneath these changes, without judgement or expectations about what your relationship or sex life should look like.

We can explore experiences such as:

  • changes in desire or differences in desire between partners

  • feeling touched out, overstimulated or disconnected from your body

  • difficulty being present during intimacy

  • body confidence and changes after pregnancy or birth

  • rebuilding emotional and physical closeness

  • communication around sex, boundaries, wants and needs

  • neurodivergence, sensory needs and intimacy

  • the impact of pregnancy, parenting, stress and mental load

  • past experiences of sexual abuse, assault or trauma

  • understanding the attachment patterns that can show up within intimacy

This work isn't about creating more sex or reaching a particular version of intimacy. It's about understanding your relationship with intimacy, your body, pleasure, safety and connection, and exploring what feels meaningful for you.

Sessions can be attended individually or with your partner.
